ISP conducted alcohol countermeasure enforcement surveillance in Monroe County

Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 6 Lieutenant Bret Burris, has announced the results of alcohol countermeasure enforcement surveillance conducted at various establishments in Monroe County on Thursday, May 9.

The detail was conducted to determine which businesses may be selling alcoholic beverages to minors (persons under 21 years of age). The ultimate goals are to enforce underage drinking laws and save lives by preventing impaired driving crashes and fatalities.

Fifty total locations were surveilled in Waterloo and Columbia. Of those, 16 establishments were involved in the sale of alcoholic beverage to a minor.
