U.S. Route 51 stretches across the entire length of Illinois, running 416 miles from Cairo to the Wisconsin border. And recently, Randolph County Commissioner David Holder, of Baldwin, completed quite the journey of walking that entire distance.
Facing some health problems, Holder decided a journey, where he would travel by walking, would do him some good.
“I felt I needed to get off the couch,” he shared. “And I was interested in taking a trip that I don’t think anyone had done before.”
