History made

The Blue Steel Volleyball Club, based out of O’Fallon, was established 17 years ago. Last weekend, the Blue Steel 14U Black team made history as the first Blue Steel team to medal at nationals. This year’s tournament was held in Las Vegas. The team took third overall, while coming into the tournament ranked 44. Competition included teams from San Francisco, California, Washington, Iowa, Hawaii, Arkansas, Oregon, Plano, TX, Houston, TX and Kentucky. Norah Wagner, daughter of Ray and Kara Wagner of Red Bud, is a member of the team. She is pictured in the middle row, second from right. The team is coached by Brooke and Dan Kloess. Brooke (Toenjes) is formerly from Red Bud.
