On Friday, Aug. 4, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker took action by signing 94 additional pieces of legislation. One of them specifically involved the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta.
HB3456 was filed by State Representative David Friess on Feb. 17 of this year. The initial version of the bill would amend the State Property Control Act to allow for the sale of the complex.
State Senator Terri Bryant became the chief senate sponsor of the bill when it arrived in the senate on March 27. After some amendments, it was passed by both houses on May 18, then awaited the governor’s signature. He signed it on Aug. 4 and it went into effect immediately.
