The latest Hometown Heroes featured by Red Bud VFW Post 6632 are father and son, John and Richard Allers.
Corporal John Allers was a graduate of White Cloud High School in Michigan. He was drafted into the Army on Sept. 10, 1952.
Master Sergeant Richard L. Allers began his Air Force career in April 1977. After completing basic training, he attended technical training at Lowry Air Force Base, CO, where he received his classification as an armament systems specialist.
