“We’ve discussed this for a few months, but now it’s time to act,” stated Evansville Village President Kenny Kempfer about raising the village’s water rates during the village board meeting on Monday night.
Kempfer went on to explain that the village has not increased their water rates since 2018, despite the cost of chemicals going up almost 300 percent since then.
“We’ve done everything we could to not raise it,” he continued. “And have made it as minimal as we can.”
