Next Tuesday, April 6, local voters will need to head to the polls to cast their votes in the consolidated election.
Two of biggest races on Tuesday’s ballot is for the positions of village president in Prairie du Rocher and in Baldwin.
In Prairie du Rocher, there are three candidates all running for village president: Mark Wilson, James Popejoy and David “Rudy” Mollet.
For Baldwin, there are two candidates running for village president: Virgil Chandler and Brad Denney.
Another big race to consider this Tuesday is for the Red Bud Community Unit School District, as there are seven candidates running for four four-year spots. They are: Carol Harms, Abigail Carter, Cheri Lange, Amy Wolter, Todd Birkner, Ben Schwartzkopf and Rick Stenzel.
It is important to note that the school board members are restricted to a maximum of three members from any congressional township, so only one candidate from Township 4S Range 8W can be elected in this election. There are four candidates on the ballot from that congressional township, Cheri Lange, Amy Wolter, Todd Birkner and Ben Schwartzkopf. The other three candidates are not limited by this restriction.
