With two hot topics on the agenda, people packed in for the April 25 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting, with several more standing in the back or along the walls.
The two topics? Permit approval for a proposed solar farm south of Sparta, and a resolution to oppose the state’s proposed legislation for the “homeschool act.” However, the majority in attendance wanted to speak out about the solar farm.
Solar farms have been an ongoing hot topic for the county, often drawing in a crowd to voice their opposition. This meeting was no exception, with 10 people asking the commissioners to either vote against or simply table the matter.
