Randolph County is looking to upgrade their election equipment and County Clerk Melanie Johnson shared information about the matter at the July 23 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.
She started off by noting that the county’s current election equipment was purchased in the fall of 2004 and first used for the consolidated election in 2005.
“It has held up well,” she noted. “But we’re starting to get into support issues. No one is repairing (these specific machines) any more.” Johnson added that with the last election, they had to replace five or six of the voting machines.
