At their Aug. 28 meeting, the Randolph County Board of Commissioners gave recognition to the contributions of local retired teachers and approved solar panels for the Regional Office of Education building.
Each year, the commissioners approve of a proclamation declaring Sept. 1 at Retired Teachers’ Day in the county.
It was noted in the proclamation that in the last school year, 23 members of the Randolph County Retired Teachers Association gave 8,944 hours of voluntary service. Several members of the association were on hand for the proclamation signing.
