County discussed need for behavioral care center, also recognize Mariah Bargman

MARIAH BARGMAN DAY–The Randolph County Board of Commissioners declared April 14 as Mariah Bargman Day to honor her for her work and leadership with the Southern Illinois Substance Abuse Alliance, now the Healthy Communities Alliance. In March of this year, Randolph County was one of 50 localities and municipal entities announced to receive an Energy Transition Community Grant.

The grant amount for Randolph County was $1,622,869 and the commissioners had noted that this funding, along with funding from a Delta Regional grant and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, would be used to help renovate the Randolph County Care Center and add the behavioral care center there.

The commissioners talked more about the Energy Transition Community Grant and the care center project at their April 14 board meeting.

Commissioner Marc Kiehna noted that with phase two of the grant application process was to seek input, he had asked some individuals to attend the meeting and talk about the project and what they’d like to see.
