Recovering from recent flooding and getting ready for the Grand were topics discussed at the July 19 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.
County Highway Engineer Grant Deterding noted that sections of roads in a few areas had been underwater for a few days, including sections of Prairie Road and County Road 18, but otherwise the roads were well.
Sheriff Jarrod Peters added that Deterding, along with his crews and the Illinois Department of Transportation crews, were a huge help in putting up road closure signs for the flooded areas. “They were a great help, very instrumental,” he said, thanking them.
