Red Bud High School’s musicians competed at the recent IHSA Solo and Ensemble Contest. In their division, which had the Musketeers competing against 67 schools, RBHS music students placed 16th overall and the chorus placed 9th. RBHS had 20 students receive superior/first place ratings, and 23 earned excellent/ second place ratings. Pictured are the participating music students (not pictured in order). The following students received a superior/first place rating: Elena Pautler, Katie Deterding, Anna Crow, Alaina Smith, Zachery Hitzeman, Isabel Billingsley, Tayah Hickman, Christ Chambers, Arianna Thomas, Michelle McBride, Presley Billingsley and Ariha Root. The following students received an excellent/second place rating: Lillian Nowak, Katie Deterding, Megan Moeller, Ariha Root, Michelle McBride, Olivia Deterding, Tayah Hickman, Katie Popejoy, Elena Pautler, Rayna Rosson, Zachery Hitzeman, Katharine Bishop, Katie Deterding, Isabel Billingsley, Tyler Ziegler, Presley Billingsley, Adreyne Smith and Mila Facun. The vocal students are under the direction of Chloe Frisby and the instrumental students are under the direction of Matt Fisher. The entries this year were accompanied by Bailey Fulton and Lea Hoock.
