The City of Red Bud’s Gas Department held their annual emergency plan meeting on March 1 at the Red Bud Fire House.
This annual meeting brings together all of the local emergency responders, as well as city employees, officials and local contractors, to discuss what to do in case of a natural gas emergency and what they can do to prevent this type of emergency.
City Superintendent Josh Eckert noted that this year they had Taylor Browne with Utility Safety and Design, Inc. lead the discussion this year since this was the 20th annual gas safety meeting.
The meeting served as a refresher and update on the city’s gas system and safety measures in general. The group also watched two different training videos regarding several different gas incidents.
