Busy week for volleyball team; regionals start Monday

The Musketeer varsity volleyball team finished up a busy week with a home match against Chester followed by the O’Fallon Autumn Classic.

On Oct. 17 Red Bud hosted the Lady Yellow Jackets of Chester for the Volley for a Cure night. The two teams battled it out for three games and in the end, Chester prevailed. The Lady Yellow Jackets won the first game 25-15 while Red Bud came back to claim the second game 25-22. Chester went on to win 25-21 for the third game to win the match.

Peyton Kreher pounded 10 kills. Addi Tallman added eight and Jeda Friess and Corbyn Legendre contributed five each. Friess and Tess Simpson had one block each. Friess served for nine points. Ella Umbdenstock and Legendre served for six points each along with one ace. Maria Murry tallied 28 digs and 29 receptions. Devyn Liefer had eight digs and 11 receptions. Umbdenstock totalled 16 assists and Emme Deterding had 11.
