Bievenue is recent Hometown Hero

HOMETOWN HERO–A banner honoring local veteran Glenn Bievenue is currently on display by the Red Bud VFW Post. Pictured with the banner is some of his family: Deloris Bievenue, Adrienne Bievenue, Russell Bievenue and Kevin Bievenue.

Recognized as a recent Hometown Hero by Red Bud VFW Post 6632 is Glenn Robert Bievenue.

Bievenue was born and raised in the Modoc area on Jan. 14, 1943. His parents were Russell and Albertha Bievenue. They had seven children: Berdell (deceased) and (Carol) Bievenue, LeRoy (Jessie) Bievenue, Glenn (Deloris) Bievenue, George (Ava deceased) Bievenue, Ray (Darlene) Bievenue, Elsie (Tom) Blomenkamp and Linda Glasco.

Bievenue enlisted in the United States Navy on Oct. 17, 1961. He married Deloris Godare on Dec. 25, 1961. He was stationed in Long Beach, CA at the naval station on the USS Brinkley Bass (DD-887) destroyer.
