Red Bud started the week last Tuesday against Carlyle at home with Chase Lucht on the mound. Lucht went five innings and was dealing yet again, giving up no earned runs through five. Defense did run into some trouble with errors though, as Red Bud fielders racked up seven on the day, which helped Carlyle hold a 4-2 lead going into the bottom of the sixth despite the Indians only mustering two hits all day. Red Bud’s offense had been spotty up until the sixth, with Issac Moll collecting the only multi-hit day. In the sixth though, Red Bud showed they had yet another comeback in the tank, as Trent Sternberg beat out an infield single to get on base for Lucas Schwartzkopf, who made himself the tying run by sending a ball way over the fence for a home run.
