School will be back in session next week, so Red Bud Police Chief John Brittingham wanted to give some back to school safety reminders.
First, he advises everyone to be cautious in school zones. Before and after school there will be heavy traffic in the areas around the schools. Be courteous of other drivers, watch out for children walking or on bicycles, watch for people in the crosswalks and remember there is no double parking allowed.
Also, observe the 20 mph school zone speed limits, as they will be enforced during school hours when children are present. Brittingham stated that these areas will be heavily patrolled at the beginning of the school year.
