Update for Modoc Ferry shared

On May 8, the New Bourbon Regional Port Authority shared an update on the Ste. Genevieve-Modoc Ferry.

Just over a year ago, the New Bourbon Regional Port Authority was considering the permanent closure of the Ste. Genevieve-Modoc Ferry. This was due to a combination of factors including rising costs and regulations. At that time, the ferry was funded solely by rider fees and operation assistance by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).

The New Bourbon Regional Port Authority is pleased to announce that the State of Illinois, through the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), has agreed to provide funding to the ferry in a matching amount to MoDOT. These funds are committed for the current fiscal year and IDOT is working on agreements for the next fiscal year as well.
