Illinois VFW District 14 Teacher of the Year Chairman Comrade John Lawson has announced that this year’s District 14 Teacher of the Year is Rachel Miller.
Miller is a first grade teacher at St. John’s Lutheran School in Red Bud. She is the Teacher of the Year in the kindergarten through fifth grade category.
She is a prime candidate for the Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher of the Year Award, as she promotes civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism with her students and in her personal life.
