A Tilden man was arrested late last week for predatory criminal sexual assault of children, with it being noted there were multiple victims in three areas over the course of several decades.
In a press release on Friday, July 11, the Sparta Police Department reported that they had been recently contacted in reference to a possible sexual abuse that had taken place. Sparta Police Officer Adam Diercks was assigned the case and began an investigation into the situation.
Diercks began the initial interviews and investigation process and concluded that this case was going to be much larger than originally believed. At that time, due to the number of possible victims, span of time and locations of the offenses, the Sparta Police Department contacted the Illinois Attorney General’s Office to assist in the investigation.
Identified as the suspect was Clyde J. Thibodeaux, 67, of Tilden.
