Last week, Monroe County Sheriff Neal Rohlfing announced that the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department would be participating in a speeding enforcement campaign for the month of July.
He noted that they are partnering with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Illinois State Police, and more than 200 local law enforcement agencies across the state for the campaign, which runs through July 31.
“Over the past few years, we have seen an increase in careless and risky driving. No matter how safe of a driver you think you may be, speeding is dangerous,” said Rohlfing. “Speed limits aren’t a suggestion – they are the law.”
