Evansville moving forward with addressing water plant issue

BUILDING DAMAGE–Pictured is one of the images that was shared Monday night of the Evansville water plant. The support beams in the aging building are rusting and collapsing.

The condition of the village water plant has been an issue for the Evansville Village Board for some time now. And to help residents understand the situation, a public hearing on the topic was held prior to the board’s regular meeting Monday night.

On hand to help with the conversation were Linda Tragesser, a planning consultant, and Thomas Miller, a grant writer and administrator, both from Southwestern Illinois Metropolitan and Regional Planning Commission (SIMAPC).

Village President Kenny Kempfer introduced the pair, noting “No matter what we do, we will need a grant.”
