Boys finish 1/3 of season

FIRST PLACE–The Musketeer golf team competed in Okawville at Roland Barkau Memorial Golf Course on Aug. 29 and brought home first place over 13 other schools with a team total 298. All five team members placed in the top 10 and freshman Porter Donjon claimed the individual title with a 71 (+1) and won the third playoff hole. On August 27, the Musketeers hosted the Gibault Hawks and Sparta Bulldogs at North County Country Club. The Musketeers shot a 143 (+3) team score which was a season low for nine holes. Leading the way for the Teers’ was Kruz Koester and Porter Donjon with 35s making them co-medalists for the match. Other scores that helped were a Duncan 36 and a DeSpain, Muench and Marcheski 37. The boys went on to beat Gibault (169) and Sparta (170).

On Friday the boys traveled north for the Okawville Invitational. Normally this is a six man event. This year it was changed to a five man. All five golfers that participated placed in the top 10 and Porter Donjon claimed the individual title with a 71 (+1) round and three additional playoff holes. Also scoring for the Teers’ was Marcheski with a 75 (5th overall), Duncan 76 (7th overall), Koester 76 (7th overall) and Diewald 77 (10th overall). The boys shot a 298 team score which outted second place Freeburg’s 308.
