A special use permit allowing the sale of alcohol at an event venue in Red Bud received some in depth discussion during committee meetings and during a special council meeting before being approved Monday night.
The special use permit was specifically for the property at 1010 Locust Street, the former First Baptist Church. The property is zoned as a B-2 business district.
Tony Groves, of Groves Investments Company, applied for the special use permit to allow for selling alcohol.
