Public invited to line procession route Saturday

After more than 80 years, a World War II war hero will finally be making his journey home to Prairie du Rocher. And the local community is invited to honor his homecoming.

Edgar William Nevois, known as Billy to family and friends, was born on April 10, 1923 to Edgar and Augusta (Blow) Nevois in Prairie du Rocher.

During World War II, he was drafted into the United States Army Air Forces on Jan. 28, 1943. He become a flight officer in April 1943 and earned his wings on Feb. 8, 1944. He completed the B-17 Flying Fortress training at Rapid City, SD and was then transferred to the 401st Bombardment Group stationed in Deenethorpe, England.
