Twelve RBHS students named as 2026 Illinois State Scholars

ILLINOIS STATE SCHOLARS–This year, 12 seniors at Red Bud High School were recognized as 2026 Illinois State Scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. They are: in front: Emma Kiefer, Addy Piel, Ava Wagner, Gracie Shemwell and Emma Carter; in back: Arley Sellers, Ariha Root, John McClellan, Lexi Bievenue, Seth Hohgrefe and Keegan Pflueger. This year, a total of 12 senior students from Red Bud High School were designated by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) as the 2026-27 Illinois State Scholars.

Students receiving this honor are: Lexi Bievenue, McKenzie Burke, Emma Carter, Seth Hohgrefe, Emma Kiefer, John McClellan, Keegan Pflueger, Addy Piel, Ariha Root, Arley Sellers, Gracie Shemwell and Ava Wagner.

State scholars are chosen each year by ISAC, which is the state’s college access and financial aid agency. The selection is based on students’ ACT or SAT test scores and sixth semester class rank and are honored for their remarkable academic achievements.
