Steeleville man arrested for violation of Sexual Offender Registration Act

Khristopher Diercks

Randolph County Sheriff Jarrod Peters announced the arrest of 48-year-old Khristopher M. Diercks, 48, of Steeleville, for violating the Sexual Offender Registration Act.

Diercks is a registered sexual predator in Randolph County and is required to register all necessary information with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office per the Sex Offender Registration Act.

It was discovered that Diercks was making posts on a social media platform under an alias and tagging the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office social media page in those posts. The activity drew attention to the potential violation of the Sex Offender Registration Act, which requires all sex offenders to register information pertaining to social media accounts. An investigation into the matter confirmed that Diercks had failed to register the required information from his social media account.
