A Red Bud mechanic was recently charged in St. Clair County with a felony charge of deceptive practice.
A press release from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office noted that on Oct. 30, Eric Zimmerman, 46, was charged with deceptive practice, which is a Class 4 felony. At that time, Zimmerman was not in custody, but his bond was set at $45,000.
The sheriff’s office reported that Zimmerman turned himself in on Nov. 8 and was released after posting bond.
The press release stated that Zimmerman’s charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department investigation that started in July 2018 regarding allegations of falsely depositing checks and allegedly writing a bad check.
