The 2018 volleyball season is in full swing as the Lady Musketeers opened at Gibault last week. This year’s team includes just two seniors, Nicole Allen and Alyssa Heller after a total of eight graduated.
“We will be young and we know we have a lot of growing and learning to do. However, many of these players got the taste of success and now have the hunger to continue the path that we set forth last year,” said Head Coach Erin Legendre.
After winning the conference with a record of 9-1, Red Bud went on to win the Class 2A regional for the second consecutive year and finished the 2017 season at 22-13-1.
“We have high expectations from this group! They know what it’s like to push and play hard and they are ready to step up and be challenged this year. Those eight seniors set a high bar, and we are ready to step up!”
Junior Alyssa Cowell is the only returning starter. She is entering her third season, playing varsity as a junior.
“This year Alyssa will be setting and hitting from the outside. She has developed into such a strong attacker and has been working hard on her setting too,” added Coach Legendre.
