Evansville is seeking a new village collector as the village board accepted the resignation of Beth Wunderlich as collector at their meeting on Monday night.
Wunderlich currently serves as both the village’s clerk and collector. She has accepted another job, and her last day working as collector will be this Friday.
The position of village collector is an appointed position, where as the clerk position is an elected position. The two positions are usually tied together, but can be separated.
Until her successor is appointed, Wunderlich will assist the village part time as collector as her schedule allows. Although, she will remain as the village’s clerk through the end of her term in May 2021.
It was noted at Monday night’s board meeting that village hall hours will be greatly reduced until a new collector is appointed. Hours will be by appointment only and can be made by calling and leaving a message, or by emailing. Those with water issues can call the village water plant directly at 618-853-4412.
The village is accepting applications for the collector position through Oct. 1. They plan to review the applications at their Oct. 14 board meeting.
