Volleyball team brings home second place hardware

SECOND PLACE–The varsity volleyball team participated in the Granite City Fall Classic last weekend. The team tied for first with Southwestern and after a head to head tiebreaker, took second place. The Granite City Fall volleyball tournament was held last Saturday with four teams participating. 

The Lady Musketeers faced the host, Granite City, for their first match of the day and won in two sets, 25-10 and 25-23.

Claire Grohmann put away five kills at the net. Olivia Carle had four. Alyssa Cowell and Megan Stellhorn contributed three each.

At the serving line, Katie Schneider led the team with 11 points. Grohmann tallied seven and Jenna Salger recorded six points. Grohmann had one block. Cowell had eight digs and four receptions. Madison Reinhold totalled six digs and Sami Lucht had five receptions. Salger had 16 assists for the match. 

For their second match of the tournament Red Bud faced Southwestern who took the match in two sets, 25-17 and 26-24.
