Jonathan Tallman, superintendent of Red Bud Community Unit School District #132, has been named the 2018 Superintendent of Distinction by his colleagues in the Southwest Region of the Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA).
Tallman was honored at an awards luncheon May 1 in Springfield. State Superintendent Dr. Tony Smith was the featured speaker at the luncheon where 21 IASA regional Superintendents of Distinction were honored.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized by my colleagues in the Southwest Region and an even greater privilege to serve the students, administration, staff, board of education and community of the Red Bud Community Unit School District,” said Tallman, who has been an educator for 19 years, as a social studies teacher, assistant principal at Belleville West High School, principal at Red Bud High School and superintendent of Red Bud CUSD #132 for six years. “Our district’s accomplishments are a collaborative effort because of the forward thinking support and direction from our board of education and an extremely dedicated and hardworking team of administrators, staff and students.”
