Take part in James “Mitch” Ellis memorial blood drive

James “Mitch” Ellis

The American Red Cross along with the family and friends of James “Mitch” Ellis invite the community to give blood in his memory Monday, Dec. 23 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Hecker Community Center, 230 E. Washington St. in Hecker.

Ellis worked as a member of the St. Louis County Police Department for the past eight years and was a Marine veteran. In October, Ellis was killed in a car accident while on his way home. He was beloved by his family and his colleagues. Ellis is survived by his wife Nicole and their five children.

“I can’t think of another way to honor Mitch’s life than to have people donate blood in his memory,” said Nicole. “He was very dedicated to the community and loved helping people.”
