Steeleville woman to appear on Jeopardy! this July

ON GAME SHOW–Lauren Kiehna and her boyfriend Mark Havard used this pictured to announce that she is a contestant on an upcoming episode of Jeopardy!

For those that watch Jeopardy!, a Steeleville woman will be one of the contestants featured in an episode scheduled to air on July 6.

Lauren Kiehna, who is the daughter of Marc and Susan Kiehna of Steeleville, recently shared with the North County News some information about her Jeopardy! experience.

Kiehna noted it was about a year long process to get on the show. It all started with taking an online test that her boyfriend, Mark Havard, suggested she take. This test is the first step in getting on the show and potential contestants must pass this online test. Approximately 75,000 people take the test each year.

From there, she received an email from Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. about going to an audition in Chicago. Kiehna went and there she did interviews and participated in a mock game.

In February this year, she received a phone call from Sony to let her know that she had made it onto the show. So in early March, she and Havard flew to Los Angeles for the show’s taping.
