The Red Bud Lady Musketeers traveled to Pinckneyville to take on the Lady Panthers in the semifinal game of the IHSA Regional Tournament on Feb. 7. The Musketeers knew it was going to take everything they had to compete with the Panthers. It was going to be a quick paced game, and Red Bud could not let down at any moment.
In the first quarter, Red Bud came out ready to give Pinckneyville a run for their money. The Musketeers had a great start and knocked in several shots right off the bat. Sophie Richards fought hard at the post and made two strong post moves to add four points to the Musketeer’s score. Laura Juelfs also battled at the post and made two, two-point shots as well. MaKenzie Harbaugh cut to the basket and made a two-point shot. Hope Guebert and Alyssa Heller contributed with two points as well. At the end of the quarter, Red Bud was leading 14-9.
