The Red Bud City Council held a brief meeting on Monday night.
Not much was actually discussed at the meeting, as most of the committees did not have anything to report.
While there was no action taken yet, one item that was briefly discussed from the Finance Committee was to hire a new city finance clerk.
City Administrative Assistant Pamela Poetker noted that so far two individuals have been interviewed and they will be interviewing four more people. A recommendation for hire will be given to the council for approval at their next meeting.
The council had approved at their Nov. 5 meeting to allow Poetker to advertise for the finance clerk position should it become open. A job posting for the position was made on the city’s Facebook page the next day.
In a related matter, approved on Monday evening’s consent agenda was the resignation of Dustin Ziebold as the city’s finance clerk.
Also from the Finance Committee, the council approved of the annual holiday gift certificates for city employees.
Mayor Tim Lowry took a moment at the end of the meeting to comment on the community tree lighting ceremony that was held on Nov. 30. He noted that the group organizing the event and the Santa’s Village, did an exceptional job and it was well attended.
