The Red Bud City Council held a brief special meeting on Monday night following their regular committee meetings.
There were only a few items on the agenda for the evening: the city’s health insurance policy renewal, the ordinance to closeout the DCEO loan program and to hire a finance clerk.
It was noted that the city will be renewing their health insurance policy with United Health Care.
The council had previously discussed closing out the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) revolving loan fund. The aldermen approved of the ordinance to continue that process.
For the finance clerk position, it was noted at this month’s regular meeting on Dec. 3 that two individuals had already been interviewed and four more were to be interviewed. At that time, City Administrative Assistant Pamela Poetker said she would give a recommendation for hire to the council at their next meeting.
Hired at Monday night’s special meeting as the new finance clerk effective in January was Elizabeth Cowell.
