The Red Bud City Council held a brief meeting on Oct. 1, with the biggest topic of conversation being investing funds into a CD.
Alderwoman Susan Harbaugh and Administrative Assistant Pamela Poetker reported that they had been looking at CD rates at the local banks, with the intent to invest some of the capital plan funds when the rates were right.
Proposed was investing $400,000 from the fund into a 24 month CD with a 2.5 percent interest rate at North County Savings Bank.
“We’ve been talking about doing this and waiting for the right time,” Harbaugh stated. “Now seems like the right time.”
The council approved.
From the Public Health and Safety Committee, the council approved of the annual Trick or Treat hours on Oct. 31 from 6-9 p.m.
