Tony Ringering received the SIJHSAA Rick Franklin Coaching Longevity Award for his 28 years of leadership and devotion to the Red Bud School District. Ringering served as high school baseball coach for 20 years and is currently the high school softball volunteer assistant. He coached at the junior high level as well: boys basketball for 20 years; girls basketball for eight years; baseball for 10 years and also served as athletic director at Red Bud Elementary for 10 years. The Rick Franklin Longevity Award is given by the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association and recognizes those who have coached for at least 20 years in the same district. Ringering was surprised with the presentation at the Jan. 24 girls basketball game.
