The Color a World Without Cancer Art Showcase will feature the talents of nearly 30 artists, craftspersons, bakers and musicians at Red Bud High School (new gym entrance on Charles Street). The showcase will be open to visitors from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18.
In addition to paintings, sketches and stippling, there will be hand-woven baskets, wooden quilt blocks, nature photography, portrait photography, weaving, ceramics, jewelry, needlework and paper crafts. One artist will be painting on site. Two others will help visitors create their own art with colorful make-and-take projects.
Admission is free, but donations to the American Cancer Society/Relay for Life are encouraged. Donation boxes will be available. There will also be a laptop and someone to help with making online donations.
The showcase is hosted by Relay for Life of Randolph County teams, Walking for Life and Team Hope for Tomorrow. Their goal is to raise over $1,000 for cancer research and cancer care services.
