Red Bud Elementary School will be holding a preschool screening for children who will be eligible for preschool during the 2019-2020 school year on Monday, March 11 and Monday, March 18 for children who reside in the Red Bud School District #132.
To be eligible, the child must be at least 3 years old, but not turning 5, on or before Sept. 1, 2019. Children who are eligible will be asked to try a variety of simple tasks in the areas of language, concepts and motor. Vision, hearing and speech articulation are also assessed.
Children who are ages birth to three are invited to attend the March 11 screening as the Randolph County Birth to 3 program will be available to do infant/toddler screenings as well.
Results will be discussed with parents immediately following their child’s completion of the screening. The screening and follow-up service, if needed, are provided free of charge. The screening will take about one hour to complete.
It is strongly recommend that all parents of preschoolers take advantage of this service. Red Bud School District #132 is prepared to expand to four preschool sections for three and four year old children who need a structured, developmentally appropriate program before they are of kindergarten age. The additional sections will be offered dependent upon enrollment.
