HELD REUNION–An all student reunion was held recently to mark the 50th anniversary of the closing of Precious Blood Institute/Precious Blood High School. Pictured are those in attendance at the reunion.
A Precious Blood Institute/Precious Blood High School all student reunion was held on Sept. 30 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the school’s closing in 1967.
The decision to close Precious Blood High School in Ruma was made because of a shortage of sister teachers that were needed not only for PBHS, but also for the new Gibault High School in Waterloo. So between the two high schools, PBHS was the smaller school, and therefore, after 44 years PBI/PBHS became a memory.
There were 112 former students who made reservations for the reunion, with classes from 1949 through 1967 represented.
