Pioneer gravestones of southern Illinois

PRESENTING PROGRAM–Mike McNerney will present a program based on his book about pioneer gravestones on Aug. 30 at Morrison-Talbott Library in Waterloo.

Morrison-Talbott Library in Waterloo will host Mike McNerney to present a program based on his book “A Shape in Time and Space: the migration of the necked discoid gravemarker” on Aug. 30 at 6:30 p.m.

Copies of McNerney’s book will be available for purchase after the program.

This program will cover the uniquely shaped pioneer gravemarker that followed the first wave of immigrants in southern Illinois during the late 1700s and early 1800s. McNerney will use a power point presentation to take all on this journey that includes Monroe County.
