Last Tuesday the Musketeers kept their season rolling when they welcomed in the Lebanon Greyhounds. Former Red Bud head basketball coach and current Greyhounds coach, Curt Berger, was making his return to Red Bud for the first time since resigning.
In the first quarter, the Musketeers were slowed down by the Greyhound’s matchup zone defense. Their pace allowed them to run their half court sets easier, and swing the ball around the perimeter with ease. Shaye Carter took over the game early by converting high percentage jumpers, and scoring near the basket. Carter scored seven points in the opening quarter. The Musketeers led 13-11 after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the game was even slower paced due to more defensive pressure from both sides, and neither team shooting the ball particularly well. Red Bud took a 21-18 lead into the locker room at halftime.
