The Musketeers kept their season rolling along last Tuesday when they sent Thomas White to the mound to face the Marissa Meteors. White struggled to throw strikes in the beginning of the contest, but was picked up by his catcher, Griffin Ziebold, who was able to throw out the runners that reached on walks and get out of the first inning unharmed. After that first inning the Musketeers were on cruise control for the rest of the game. Neither sides had much traffic on the bases, and the Musketeers were able to capitalize on the Meteors’ mistakes.
In the bottom of the third inning, Marissa committed some costly errors that led to a 3-0 lead by the Musketeers. White was able to stifle the Meteors for the better half of the rest of the game and keep them off the board. Marissa pushed one run across later in the contest, but it was not enough to overtake the Musketeers. Red Bud went on to win the game 3-1.
