The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department is asking for assistance from citizens regarding several reports that have taken place in the general location of Sportsman Road between Red Bud and Waterloo. The reports include calls of suspicious persons, theft, burglary and attempted vehicle burglary.
The first report was of an attempted vehicle burglary on LL Road near G Road on July 27. The incident occurred around midnight, but was not reported until 9:58 a.m. The caller stated someone attempted to break into a vehicle, however was unable to gain entry. The caller stated that around midnight they heard dogs barking, however OnStar alerted them the next morning that someone attempted to gain entry to the vehicle.
A suspicious person call was made on July 27 at 5:14 p.m. in the area of Sportsman Road at LL Road. The caller stated a male subject was walking in the roadway holding what appeared to be a shotgun. Deputies arrived in the area, but were unable to locate anyone.
