Local funeral home has new name

A long-time Randolph County business opened a new chapter in their corporate life on Sept. 1 when Welge-Pechacek Funeral Homes in Evansville and Red Bud and Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home in Chester began doing business as Pechacek Funeral Homes.

Welge-Pechacek Funeral Homes and Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home have been owned and operated by Ronald and Pamela Pechacek and Michael and Susan McClure. After Ron’s death in June 2017, the Pechacek family spent time reassessing the business and its future. Ron dedicated over 40 years to the funeral business and enjoyed serving the communities of Randolph and Monroe Counties. The Pechacek family feels strongly about continuing Ron’s tradition of putting the family served first. As of Sept. 1, the Pechacek family will be sole owners of the business and are honoring Ron with the new business name.

As a part of this change, Michael and Susan McClure have chosen to leave the funeral business and start a new chapter in their lives. Mike joined his family business in 1972 and has humbly served the community of Chester for the past four decades.

Pamela Pechacek has been an integral part of the business since its inception. She will continue as owner and administrator.
