The Red Bud Lions Club hosted a dinner on March 14 at Ratzkeller in celebration of their 85th anniversary.
The club welcomed guest speaker Robert Block, the international director.
“The Red Bud Lions Club has been able to transform itself through the years, both in membership by accepting new members and ideas as well as being able to change their programs in fundraising and services to meet the requirements and needs of their community. To me, this is what a Lions Club is all about – ‘fulfilling the needs of their community,’” stated Block.
“By them doing this for 85 years, I feel that they are easily on their way to the 100th anniversary and many more after that. I congratulate them on this 85th anniversary. They are a great example of what a Lions Club should be and show others in how to make the necessary changes to stay successful in that service to others not only in Red Bud, but throughout the world,” he said.
