Kodi Lafore appeared in the Randolph County Courthouse before Judge Dennis Doyle for a very brief case management hearing on the afternoon of July 11.
Lafore, 23, of Waterloo, was charged earlier this year with both involuntary manslaughter and second degree murder following an incident that took place on the night of Jan. 6 in rural Red Bud, where Adam Sesto, 36, of Red Bud received a fatal stab wound.
At last week’s hearing, Randolph County State’s Attorney Jeremy Walker noted that they are still planning on an Oct. 22 trial date.
Both Walker and defense attorney Justin Kuehn agreed to another pre-trial case management hearing scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 9 a.m.
While there were no motions discussed at this hearing, Kuehn did note that he anticipates filing motions on Aug. 1, unless resolution in the case has been reached by then.
Doyle noted that everything seemed on track and that he would see them all again in court on Aug. 1.
